University student dies in car accident

Camilo Moore (19), a sophomore, died from injuries sustained in a car accident Friday, June 24. The accident occurred in Pompey, New York, at 12:18 p.m. on State Route 91 when Moore crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2014 Ford Pickup truck towing a boat head-on. He was transported to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse where he was pronounced dead. Four people from the pickup truck suffered non-life threatening injuries according to state police. An autopsy revealed Moore had an unknown heart condition, which caused the accident.

Moore, who would have been 20 on June 27, was a psychology major. He transferred to the University in the spring 2016 semester and was enrolled to attend this coming fall. He was the son Michael and Lina Moore of Liverpool, New York.
