The Arkansas Broadcasters Association recognized Harding University radio station KVHU for outstanding station promotion in a medium market. The ABA presented the award at its annual convention in Little Rock July 15.
KVHU was recognized for its student-led production and broadcasting of 13 radio commercials promoting the University’s Community of Mission theme. This is the second ABA award won by KVHU. Dutch Hoggatt, professor of communication and station manager, accepted the award for his students’ submission.
“To receive this award from the professional organization that represents all the broadcast stations in Arkansas is a great honor for the station and the students,” Hoggatt said. “Each of the students in the radio production class did an excellent job developing, writing and producing their individual Harding University radio commercials. Each student deserves credit for producing an award-winning series of radio commercials.”
ABA represents 210 radio stations and 33 television stations in the state of Arkansas. The annual awards showcase community service, outstanding station promotion, and outstanding production technique by Arkansas broadcasters.
