High school students from 17 different states will present a free choral concert July 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall on the Harding University campus.

Participants in the University’s summer Honor Choir program are on campus all week studying voice, sight-reading, staging and choreography, improvisation, and choral music. Dr. Cliff Ganus organized the week’s activities and will direct the evening concert.

Other program instructors include Assistant Professors Kelly Neill and Jay Walls, Instructor Susan Shirel, Adjunct Instructor Stacey Neely, and Associate Professor Laura Eads. Lis Jones is the accompanist for the concert and rehearsals, and Jenna Thomas, director of theatre at Central Arkansas Christian School, is choreographer for the event.

The concert will include a variety of choral selections, including “Agincourt Song” by Dr. Samuel Adler, “Flower of Beauty” by John Clements, “Dirait-on” by Morten Lauridsen, “Baba Yetu” by Christopher Tin, “Wade in the Water” by Moses Hogan, “Homeland” by Randall Stroope, and “Hairspray Medley” by Marc Shaiman. The public is invited to attend, and there is no admission charge.
