ASI Distinguished Lecture Series kicks off with former attorney general

Aug. 17, 2017 | ASI | The 2017-18 American Studies Institute Distinguished Lecture Series will kick off at Harding University Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Benson Auditorium with former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Alberto Gonzales served as the 80th attorney general of the United States from 2005-07. Prior to his appointment, he held several notable positions such as general counsel to the governor of Texas, Texas secretary of state, Texas Supreme Court justice, and counsel to the president. Gonzales, now dean at Belmont University College of Law, teaches courses on the U.S. Constitution, First Amendment and national security. He is the author of True Faith and Allegiance and A Conservative and Compassionate Approach to Immigration Reform. Open seating — no ticket necessary.
