Harding University will host pianist Clara Campbell Christian at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 in the Administration Auditorium, 915 E. Market Ave., Searcy as the third performance of this year’s Arts and Life Concert Series.

Christian is a professor of piano at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. She has a D.M.A. in piano performance and pedagogy from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and an M.M. from the Peabody Institute.

An active performer, Christian has given solo recitals throughout North America as well as in St. Petersburg, Russia. She has performed in the Chicago Cultural Center, the Jaani Kirik Recital Series (St. Petersburg), and the Fourth Presbyterian Fridays at Noon Concert Series (Chicago). She has served as rehearsal accompanist for the Chicago Master Singers where she was privileged to work with conductor Alan Heatherington. She performs frequently as a collaborative artist, most recently in Strasbourg, France, alongside saxophonist Matthew Sintchak and clarinetist David Gould in the group Fuse Trio.

Christian will perform works by Liszt, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Bolcom.

“I just performed some of the same excerpts from Franz Liszt’s ‘Annees de Pelerinage (Years of Pilgrimage, Book 1)’ several weeks ago at the American Liszt Society’s International Liszt Competition held at Ohio State University,” said Christian about the upcoming performance. “Participating in this event made me even more passionate about this incredible Romantic composer who has impacted the world of piano music ever since.”

Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door. For tickets and more information about upcoming shows, visit Harding.edu/concertseries. For more Harding events, go to Harding.edu/calendar.
