Harding University will host a Valentine’s Eve dinner and concert Tuesday, Feb. 13 . Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. in Cone Chapel of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building followed by an Arts and Life Concert Series performance by Intersection Trio at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium. The event is open to the public and tickets are available for purchase through Feb. 9 .
“We’re excited to host a community event where people can get dressed up for a romantic evening of dinner and music,” said Candice Moore, marketing director.
Intersection, a New York trio consisting of violinist Laura Frautschi, cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper and pianist John Novacek, will perform a varied program that begins with familiar favorites from the classical repertoire, then builds to incorporate music from familiar films including works by John Williams and Henry Mancini.
“Intersection has thrilled audiences all over the world, and now we are excited to have them come play for us in Searcy,” said Dr. Jay Walls, associate professor of music.
Each member of the group has a vibrant solo career, but a few times throughout the year they come together to play.
“I feel very fortunate that the trio chose to add Searcy as one of their scheduled performances,” Walls said. “Between the elegant dinner and the evening entertainment, I can't think of a better way to spend Valentine's eve.”
Dinner includes steak and shrimp, salad, vegetable, and dessert. A vegetarian option is also available. Tickets are $25 each ($50 per couple) and can be purchased at www.artsandlife.eventbrite.com .
