Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre begins 37th year

June 3, 2019 | Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre | The Harding University Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre will begin its 37th season June 6, and the three featured shows follow the theme “What LIES in Store.” The season will open with “You Can’t Get There From Here” on June 6-9 and 13-15. In this show, one reporter investigates the Mavis Garner Bed and Breakfast after he finds out many of their customers come to stay after their cars have hit a pothole on Main Street. “Losing Patients” will continue the season June 27-30 and July 5-6. The show centers around the stately Silver Crest Manor, which sits as a once respected nursing home. However, on the inside, a seemingly benign location becomes the setting for a devious plot masterminded by a trio of greedy scoundrels. The season will conclude with “Wait Until Dark” performed July 18-21 and 25-27. The show opens with Susy Hendrix, a young woman adjusting to life after becoming blind. Her husband unknowingly smuggles drugs into their home after a business trip — a mistake that turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse between Susy and three dangerous criminals.
