Harding University has recently made several leadership changes across multiple colleges and departments.
Brittany Blake was named chair of the department of family and consumer sciences, effective June 30. Blake holds the certified child life specialist certification from the Association of Child Life Professionals. She fills the role previously held by Dr. Denise Fisher who returned to full-time teaching.
Dr. Darren Mathews became director of the Master of Arts in Teaching July 1. Matthews previously served as high school principal at Harding Academy. He took the place of Pat Bashaw who retired.
Dr. Jon Wood has been appointed director of the Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business, effective Aug. 1. Jon has served as an assistant professor for the College of Business Administration since January. He will fill the role previously held by Dr. Ken Olree who will be teaching full time in the department of engineering and physics.
Dr. David Johnson was named chair of finance effective Aug. 1. Johnson has more than 25 years of teaching experience and is returning to Harding from Faulkner University. He will fill the position held by Dan Summers who will be teaching accounting full time.
Audra Pleasant has been promoted to executive director of international programs effective Aug. 1. Pleasant previously served as the international programs logistics administrator. She takes the place of Dr. Jeff Hopper who is retiring.
