Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre ends summer series with “Wait Until Dark”

July 15, 2019 | Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre | Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre, Harding University’s summer community-based theatre program presented by the department of theatre, will begin production of “Wait Until Dark,” the third and final summer show of the theatre’s 37th season, July 18. “Wait Until Dark” is part of this summer’s theme “What LIES in Store” and will run through July 27. “Wait Until Dark is a classic suspense thriller that still powerfully affects today,” director Nathan Sullivan said. “Depicting a blind woman who must defend herself from a dangerous con-game, the play echoes timely issues of power, greed, and the presumed disparities of gender and disability. One woman’s struggle to survive becomes our own as we, too, strive for independence and to control the forces that would limit and harm us.” The show will be performed July 18-21 and 25-27 at the Harding University Ulrey Performing Arts Center, located off of Jimmy Carr St. in Searcy, Arkansas. Each show begins with a buffet dinner provided by Classic Fare Catering. Individual tickets are $32, and a limited number of show-only seats will be $17 per ticket. Some performances have already sold out. Tickets can be purchased online at hardingtickets.com, by phone or at the box office. For more information, contact 501-279-4276.
