Harding University welcomes David Walton, tenor, and collaborative pianist, Mark Bilyeu, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Administration Auditorium. Walton and Bilyeu’s production will kick off the 2019-20 Arts and Life Performance Series.
David Walton, a 2009 Harding alumnus, will take center stage in a recital of arias and songs by Bach, Mozart, Rossini, Britten, and others.
“During his time as a student at Harding, David sang several lead roles in major productions and won numerous awards in vocal competitions throughout the state and region,” Laura Eads, Walton’s former voice teacher, said. “He has a truly unique voice, full of beauty and flexibility, that has allowed him to make great strides in the professional world. In addition to his rare voice and excellent skills as a musician, David has proven himself to be a man of character and grace. Through all of his accomplishments, he has maintained his integrity and genuine nature. We are proud to call him one of our alumni.”
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. For more information, visit harding.edu/artsandlife or call 501-279-4343. For other Harding events and free or low-cost services available to the public, visit harding.edu/community.
