The Queen’s Cartoonists bring music to life in Arts and Life performance series

Sept. 18, 2019 | Arts & Life Performance Series | Harding University will host The Queen’s Cartoonists Thursday, Sept. 26, as part of the 2019-20 Arts and Life Performance Series. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium. A concert for all ages, The Queen’s Cartoonists will play music from classic cartoons and contemporary animation. The performances are synchronized to video projections of the original films, and the band leads the audience through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem, and comedy. The Queen’s Cartoonists, six world-class professional musicians, came together in 2015. Since then, they have performed in more than 20 states and have opened for the New York Philharmonic. They have been featured in multiple publications, including The Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, Mashable, and on NPR. Digital media and entertainment company Mashable says the group “ slips and slides through decades of cartoon music in a matter of minutes,” immediately connecting with “a captivated crowd of young and old,” calling the experience “the pleasure of the perfect synchrony of sound and pictures.” Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Groups of five or more can purchase tickets for $5 each. For more information, visit harding.edu/artsandlife or call 501-279-4343.
