Harding University’s American Studies Institute hosted New York Times best-selling author Eric Metaxas for the third presentation of its distinguished lecture at 7:30 p.m. Metaxas’ presentation, titled "Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery," covered his recent book, “Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery.”

In addition to Amazing Grace, Metaxas is the author of several books, including Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy; Miracles: What They Are, Why They Happen, and How They Can Change Your Life; and If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty.

Metaxas’ writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The New Yorker. He has appeared as a cultural commentator on CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. In addition, Metaxas is the host of “The Eric Metaxas Show,” a nationally syndicated daily radio show. He is the founder and host of “Socrates in the City,” a series of conversations on life, God and other small topics.”
