Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre postpones 2020 season

May 22, 2020 | Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre |

Due to the global spread of COVID-19 Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre, Harding University’s summer community-based theatre program, has postponed the 2020 season.

The University continues to monitor state and CDC guidance as it makes decisions regarding summer activities. In order to assure the safety and health of the cast, crew and patrons, SSDT announced this season’s performances will be rescheduled for summer 2021.

“This will mark the first year in 37 years of SSDT that our family of performers and crews will not be performing for our family of devoted patrons,” said Dr. Steve Frye, professor and chair of the theatre department. “This is just an intermission. Our plan is to carry this season forward to 2021 where our ‘Escape From Reality’ will become a welcome relief in a healthier world. Join us in 2021 for ‘Harvey,’ ‘Farce of Habit’ and ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe!’ We long to share with you again the joy and magic of live theatre! Our prayer is that you stay safe, stay healthy, and stay focused on making a difference in this world.”
