Harding University Spring Sing presents “Stand Out” April 6-8

April 3, 2023 | Spring Sing |

Students, alumni, families, friends and guests of Harding University are invited April 6-8 for the 49th annual Spring Sing. The musical variety show will feature hundreds of students involved in seven productions, plus 21 ensemble cast members and four hosts and hostesses accompanied by the Harding University Jazz Band.

Dr. Steven Frye, department of theatre chair, has served as the director of Spring Sing for 28 years. When asked about the show, Dr. Frye stated, “The students of Harding University never cease to amaze me and capture my heart. They are unique. Their experiences are shaping them to be people that love, trust, and inspire others. That is how they Stand Out!”

Since 1974, Searcy has been home to this musical extravaganza showcasing the talent and spirit of Harding. This year, more than 19 social clubs are represented in performances with themes like Mike Williams’ day off, Broadway stars, a living museum, firefighters, time travelers, outer space and bikers vs. surfers. Additionally, ensemble cast members and hosts and hostesses will perform accompanied by the Harding University Jazz Band. Each club performance is judged, and results are tallied and announced at the end of Saturday night’s performance. The clubs compete for cash prizes to be donated to the local charity of their choice.

Show times are Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m.; Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Benson Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at hardingtickets.com or by calling 501-279-4255. For more information and a full schedule of the weekend, visit harding.edu/springsing .
