Thanaydi Sandoval earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Harding. She initially began her career as a sales development representative before pivoting to education after the COVID-19 pandemic. She had been thinking about her time at Harding, mentoring and tutoring Upward Bound students. She felt called to a career change, so she began as a teaching assistant while she went to graduate school. She now works as a fifth-grade teacher and tutor at a school for children with language-based learning disabilities. Thanayadi loves her job. She gets to witness students’ journeys as they learn and grow, gaining confidence along the way. This is the most rewarding part: not just seeing scores change but being part of a community pouring into these young people.
