Tyler Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Harding and a master’s degree in communication and journalism at the University of Alabama. He is a founding member and director of the narrative studio 1504. Jones was initially led to visual storytelling in 2008, when he spent a semester abroad at Harding University in Florence. In the establishment of 1504, the studio was named for the year Michelangelo’s David was unveiled in Florence. Now, Jones is fueled to lead storytelling projects that aim to foster a more empathetic society. He finds it incredibly meaningful to help communities see their stories with fresh eyes, whether that means bringing difficult histories into clearer focus or helping someone feel seen. He sees this as a practice of attention: honoring dignity and contributing to the common good.
