Library director appointed to board for Amigos Library Services

Brackett Library Director Jean Waldrop was elected to the board of directors for Amigos Library Services. She is the only newly elected director who has not previously served on the non-profit board.

Waldrop will serve a three-year term for the organization, which provides consulting services, continuing education opportunities, vendor discounts, professional advice and other services to more than 600 libraries in several states.

“I am very honored,” Waldrop said. “I am looking forward to this new appointment and to expanding my knowledge and skills as a leader in the library community. I am excited about the changes that are going on in the library world as we continue to expand our services to the communities we work and live in.”

Waldrop begins her term with an orientation in August.
