The department of music will host guitarist Don Ross on Thursday, Sept. 22, as the first performer in the Arts and Life Concert Series. Ross will perform at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium.
After studying composition, electronic music and sound recording at Toronto’s York University, Ross won the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in 1988. In 1996, Ross won again – becoming the only guitarist to ever win the championship twice. Ross has toured across Canada, the U.S., Australia, and many European and Asian countries. He has performed with Canadian and German symphony orchestras. Ross was the first musician to sign with Milwaukee-based CandyRat Records in 2005. His recent projects include a duo album “12:34,” with Calum Graham and three solo guitar albums, “Upright,” “Locked Position” and “PS 15.”
Tickets are $5 at the door and $3 if purchased in advance. Season tickets are available for $10. Information about the complete season and a link to purchase tickets can be found at www.harding.edu/arts-sciences/music/performance-series/.
