Spring Sing participants award $6K to local charities

April 20, 2019 | Spring Sing | Thousands of students and hundreds of faculty and production crew members came together to perform Spring Sing 2019, “The Greatest Show.” The show comprised eight different social club shows that featured a number of themes. After performances April 18-20, nine judges collaborated to announce the winners in four individual categories and overall on April 20. Total, clubs awarded $6,000 to chosen charities. The results were as follows: MUSIC 3rd runner-up — April Showers: A Striking Downpour (Delta Gamma Rho, Omega Phi and friends) 2nd runner-up — Seeing Spots! (Chi Sigma Alpha, Regina, Sigma Phi Mu and friends) 1st runner-up — No Ifs, ANTS, or Buts! (Ju Go Ju, Ko Jo Kai, Sub T-16 and friends) WINNER — A Tail of Two Cities (TNT, Zeta Rho and friends) STAGING 3rd runner-up — It Was Bigfoot Without a Shadow of a Scout (Gamma Sigma Phi, Pi Theta Phi and friends) 2nd runner-up — No Ifs, ANTS, or Buts! (Ju Go Ju, Ko Jo Kai, Sub T-16 and friends) 1st runner-up — Seeing Spots! Ryan Sweepstakes Award is: 3rd runner-up — It Was Bigfoot Without a Shadow of a Scout (Gamma Sigma Phi, Pi Theta Phi and friends; $600 donation to Friends for Life) 2nd runner-up — Seeing Spots! (Chi Sigma Alpha, Regina, Sigma Phi Mu and friends; $800 to March of Dimes) 1st runner-up — No Ifs, ANTS, or Buts! (Ju Go Ju, Ko Jo Kai, Sub T-16 and friends; $1,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation) WINNER — A Tail of Two Cities (TNT, Zeta Rho and friends; $2,000 donation to CASA) Four remaining club shows each received $400 for the following charities: I.V. League (Pi Kappa Delta, Lambda Chi and friends donated to the American Red Cross) The Ballad of the Salad: A Root Awakening (Delta Nu and friends donated to the Sunshine School) OR-wE-GONna Make It? (Chi Omega Pi, Zeta Pi Zeta, Iota Chi, Shantih and friends donated to Jacob’s Place) April Showers: A Striking Downpour (Delta Gamma Rho, Omega Phi and friends donated to Habitat to Humanity)
