New executive chef joins dining services

Harding University announced the appointment of Lewis Curtis as executive chef of its dining program. Chef Lewis is responsible for directing the University’s dining program as well as creating and executing the catering menu for special events.

As a seasoned culinary artist with more than 14 years of experience, Chef Lewis has served some of the nation’s top leaders and influential business owners from around the world. He has worked with Fairchild and Little Rock Air Force Bases as well as served as a private chef and apprenticed under Paul Prudhomme, Gordon Ramsey and Thomas Keller. Additionally, he has appeared on Food Network, international TV with Gordon Ramsey and has been featured on a number of local TV stations.

“Chef Lewis is an outstanding addition to our dining team and we are excited for the culinary experiences he is already bringing to students and the Harding community,” said Tammy Hall, vice president of finance and chief financial officer. “He brings with him a wealth of experience, creativity and leadership that will enhance and elevate our dining program.”

A chef since the age of 22, Lewis has had a passion for food and love of the industry since he was a boy. Chef Lewis was trained through The Art Institute of Dallas and the Arkansas Culinary School of Apprentice.

“I am thrilled to become a part of the Harding community and look forward to serving the students, faculty and guests,” said Chef Lewis. “This is truly a wonderful opportunity, and I am excited to develop culinary creations that enhance the student experience.”
