Homecoming weekend provides lineup exciting activities

Students, alumni and friends of Harding University will share in a celebration as the University hosts its 91st annual Homecoming weekend Oct. 22-24.

In addition to cheering on the Bison football team in their 2 p.m. game Saturday against East Central University and enjoying a performance of “Singin’ in the Rain,” the University community can choose from numerous activities to relive favorite college memories and create new ones with friends.

Highlights of Homecoming weekend include:

Thursday, Oct. 22 New exhibits at the Harding History House remembering Dr. Neale Pryor and his legacy and HUF, HUG and other international programs will open at 12 p.m. at 205 N. Lott Tucker Drive.

The Lady Bisons soccer game starts at 7 p.m. against East Central University at the Stevens Soccer Complex.

Friday, Oct. 23 The Bison Booster Club Golf Tournament will take place at 9 a.m. on the Course at River Oaks ($125/person, $500/team, or $125 hole sponsorship).

The Good News Singers will perform at 4 p.m. in C.L. Kay Plaza in front of Benson Auditorium.

The 91st anniversary Black and Gold Banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles White Cafeteria to honor outstanding and distinguished alumni ($20).

“Singin’ in the Rain” will begin at 8 p.m. in Benson Auditorium ($15 and $18).

The Bison Block Party begins at 10:30 p.m. at Legacy Park with music and s’mores.

Saturday, Oct. 24 Bison Stampede 5K Run will be at 9 a.m. ($20).

Alumni Chapel will be at 10 a.m. in the Administration Auditorium.

At 10 a.m., the Lady Bisons play Southwestern Oklahoma State University at the Stevens Soccer Complex.

Inflatable games, a petting zoo, face painting, Harding family picnic and tailgating will take place prior to the football game from 10:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. at Ganus Athletic Center.

At 11 a.m., the First Ladies Garden and Legacy Park Apartments phase three will be dedicated in a ceremony in the center of the garden, which is off Dr. Jimmy Carr Drive.

Belles and Beaux will perform at 11 a.m. in Administration Auditorium.

The Pied Pipers will also perform at 11 a.m. in Heritage Auditorium.

At 2 p.m., the Bison football team will take on East Central University at First Security Stadium ($8 and $10).

Another showing of “Singin’ in the Rain” will be at 8 p.m. in Benson Auditorium ($15 and $18).

Theatron will perform at 10:30 p.m. in the McInteer Rotunda.
