HU to hold vigil and chapel service in memory of student

The University will hold two memorials next week to honor and remember Nicholas Smith, a senior at the University who died March 7, 2015, in an automobile accident.

Student-led candlelight vigil Wednesday, March 18 9 p.m. Outside on the steps in front of Benson Auditorium

Chapel memorial service Thursday, March 19 Two service options at 9 and 10 a.m. Benson Auditorium

Smith, 21, was traveling to Syracuse, New York, for a mission trip when his car was hit by a semi on I-71 just outside Louisville, Kentucky. Smith, originally from Buford, Georgia, was a senior youth and family ministry major at the University set to graduate in May, a member of Beta Omega Chi men’s social club, and an honors student.
