After feeling a lot of pressure her senior year of high school to choose a college and major, Jill Jennings chose to major in Spanish at Harding. She had always enjoyed Spanish and heard that Harding was nationally ranked.

Within the Spanish program, Jennings was able to form relationships with her peers and professors through classes and department activities and was introduced to a wide range of career options available as a Spanish major.

“Our department is small enough that you can actually form friendships with the professors,” Jennings said. “I really learn from being in my professors’ classes and hearing their personal stories of their travels and experiences.”

Outside of class, Jennings writes for CrossTalk, the department newsletter. She is also a part of Phi Sigma Iota honors society, in which she plans to help host a foreign language fair for high school students.
