MBA Today: Special Agent Kyle Brice
January 12, 2018
Kyle Brice serves as a supervisory special agent for the U.S. Department of Treasury based in Louisville, Kentucky, and was part of Harding’s first MBA cohort during the fall 1998. He leads a team of special agents who investigate financial crime throughout the Southeast including all forms of tax crimes and money laundering activities.
Brice said his MBA focused on corporate leadership, which gave him a foundation to lead his team of investigators.
“The skills and knowledge I obtained in the MBA program almost 20 years ago are still applicable to my daily routine,”
said Brice.
According to Brice, in law enforcement ethics are everything, and his job is to track down criminals who have shown a blatant disregard for ethics.
“If we allow ourselves to fall below an ethical standard, we cannot successfully bring these individuals to justice,” said Brice. “As a special agent, there are a lot of times when the only difference between doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing is a firm base of an ethical standard on which the agent stands.”
The University’s MBA heavily focuses on ethics, and the opportunity to gain that advantage through the Christian perspective offered by Harding is unique.
“Beyond an ethical foundation and choosing right when wrong would be easier, having that Christian perspective to education offers a daily reminder that we belong to God not just on Sundays, but every day of the week and in everything we do.”
