The Harding University improvisational children’s theatre troupe, The Pied Pipers, will be performing its annual Christmas show at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Ulrey Performing Arts Center. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
Directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Dottie Frye, the Pied Pipers use a combination of fairy tales, Aesop’s Fables, poems, songs, audience participation and modern stories in their shows.
“Our purpose is to entertain children and spark their imaginations,” Frye said. “Each show is full of high energy, creativity and interaction with the children. This show in particular is full of Christmas fun and cheer.”
Pied Pipers entertains approximately 20,000 people each year in a wide range of settings including public and private schools, children’s homes, hospitals, preschools, centers for people with disabilities, libraries, churches, children’s theatre organizations, local arts councils, and private and commercial businesses and groups.
