At Harding, we are proud that our theatre program has welcomed and developed passionate, creative and driven theatre-makers. We are excited to highlight a few of our accomplished alumni and their careers in diverse areas of the arts. Whether gracing the stage and film, working behind the scenes or teaching the next generation, these graduates continue to inspire us with their artistry and commitment.
Their journeys exemplify the rigorous training, collaborative spirit and enduring support that we strive to foster within our department. As we celebrate their achievements, we also look forward to the ways they’ll continue to shape the future of the arts and serve as role models for our current and future students.

What was your favorite theatre class during your time at Harding?
Make-up class! This was so random because my emphasis was in stage management. But that is the class that really stands out in my mind because I still use those skills today! I have all of my photos from that class in an album on my phone, and I probably use them once a semester to help students with their makeup.
I actually am really thankful for practicum. I came out of Harding so well rounded, and I have had so many side hustles from doing makeup, to helping to build sets, and stage managing for a bunch of student organizations. I think I really took for granted having to take so many different types of practicum classes, but it made me such a well-rounded individual which has set me apart in graduate school.
What are some of your favorite theatre memories from Harding?
HOW CAN I PICK ONE? My favorite memory on campus was building a giant 10-foot horse for “Cinderella” and then hearing Ben Jones say "Hey, we don’t have to use it if it doesn’t work. Tt’s not a big deal." That pushed me to work even harder to make it onto the stage.
My favorite memory off campus was studying abroad with the Joneses. That summer was so transformative for my faith but also my knowledge of the world. They were the best tour guides, and it was just the best summer of cringy pictures, empty tourist spots (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and lots of sweet memories.
What is your favorite part of your current program?
Over the last three years in my graduate program, I have had the opportunity to wear many different hats. I have been a house manager, box office manager and social media/marketing manager, but my favorite role has been project manager for the last two years. Through this role I have been able to work on the five-year plans for our new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center on campus. I have worked closely with faculty and staff, and I make all of the schedules for ushers, cleaning staff and practicum students for each show. This project management role has been super rewarding because I have been able to see students grow and play a small role in their educational experience. I have loved learning through an educational setting, and I have been set up to enter the industry with confidence when I graduate in May.
What advice would you give to current students?
My advice for current students would be to lean on the Lord. During undergrad I spent a lot of my time focused on what I needed or what would be good for me and my career. But over the last year I have realized that’s not the point. The point is for our lives to reflect the Lord in all that we do. I have seen my work, my relationships and my heart change, and I wish that I had leaned on the Lord earlier in my life.
