Allie Lightfoot (’21)

Performer in Sight & Sound’s production of “David” (backup Bathsheba and have a varied primary ensemble track)

What was your favorite theatre class during your time at Harding?

Acting 2 took me out of my comfort zone and taught me so much. Stage combat was the most fun. My ensemble track that I perform everyday includes stage combat.

What is your favorite theatre memory from Harding?

My favorite show I ever performed in was “Big Fish.” I could do that show every day for the rest of my life!

What is your favorite part of your job?

The story of David is one of my favorite stories I’ve ever performed. The majority of the show involves worshiping the Lord and highlights the importance of communing daily with him. It’s a beautiful reminder for me as a devoted follower of Jesus!

What advice would you give to current students?

My number one piece of advice is to ask the Lord what He wants you to do within your calling and obey him — even if it isn’t exactly what you were expecting. My second piece of advice is to never give up. I auditioned three times before I was cast in a Sight & Sound show. God’s timing was absolutely perfect, even though I couldn’t understand it at the time.
