Where is your current hometown?
I live in Los Angeles, California.
How have you been involved in your community?
I currently volunteer as chair for the Continuing Pharmacy Education Committee for CSHP. I am also president of the Parent Teacher Organization for Friends of Playschool.
Who in the Harding community has influenced you?
Dr. Rayanne Story encouraged me early on to stay engaged and never sit quietly on the sidelines of our profession.
How are you living your Inspired Purpose?
While my passion was and still is in emergency medicine, I found myself increasingly drawn to the bigger picture challenges seen in health systems administration. Over time, I’ve shifted my purpose towards advancing the role of pharmacists in health care, making sure we continue to push the boundaries of how we care for our patients.
What makes your field rewarding?
Although I stepped away from direct patient care a few years ago, I've come to realize that my current role allows me to have a broader impact by supporting the clinical teams and front line health care workers that serve the underserved. It's rewarding to see all the behind the scenes work come together to create a collaborative system that also highlights and values the contributions of pharmacists.
How do you get to serve God and others through the work that you do?
My work is focused on supporting the safety net community here in Los Angeles, making sure the most vulnerable and underserved populations have access to safe, effective and equitable pharmacy care. It is a privilege to serve others, and I see it as a meaningful way to live out my faith.
What else should we know about you?
I have two beautiful girls and a supportive husband. They are the heart behind everything I get to do as a pharmacist!
